Frequently asked questions

We are closed on Sundays and Mondays. More detailed weekly opening hours can be found on our Instagram and Facebook channels.

Please note that the reservation is binding, purchased seats cannot be returned or redeemed. If you are prevented from participating in the workshop you have registered for, you can give your place to another person or postpone your participation to another time . You can transfer your participation by e-mail and you will receive a code from us that you can use to make a reservation at a time that suits you (more dates and workshops are coming up for sale if the workshops are sold out). When transferring, please indicate your order number/name, which we use to see the purchase transaction. Places reserved with the code are not transferable.

If the number of participants in the workshop is less than four people, the workshop will not be organized. We will inform you about this personally by e-mail

This is how you participate when paying with the virike benefit: When reserving a place in a workshop or painting course , use the code virike. We accept Edenred, Smartum and epassi benefits (vouchers, cards and mobile payments). With the code, you book and secure yourself a place in the workshop. The payment is made at the beginning of the workshop on the spot according to the price of the workshop.

You can also split your payment between different payment methods: part with the benefit and part with your own card, for example. When sharing the payment, reserve your place with the code virike and the payment will be made at the beginning of the workshop with virike benefits and a payment card.

To make it easier to pay on the spot, please make sure that your application is updated and that you have a balance left. If you have reserved your place with the code virike, but there is no balance, you can pay for your participation with a payment card on the spot according to the price of the workshop.

However, please always let us know if you want to cancel or postpone your participation, also when paying with the incentive benefit.

The incentive benefit cannot be used for gift cards

We have wine and sparkling wine glasses and a bottle opener on site. All you need to bring is a glass filling.

We have designed the workshops so that the enjoyment of wine is particularly suitable, and that is why the Paints and Wine and Abstract texture painting with mass workshops have specifically mentioned bringing your own drinks.

However, you can also take drinks with you to other workshops to enjoy :)

Children are also welcome to paint in the company of an adult! The child then also buys participation and their own place in the workshop. We also have a separate "Acrylic pouring with a child" workshop, which is held a little less often.

** Exception for Paints and Wine workshops (K-18). And please note that alcohol inks and thinners emit a strong smell, which is not suitable for sensitive people. May cause fatigue and dizziness .

You don't need to have any previous painting experience. In our workshops, the emphasis is on the joy and experience of painting, without forgetting the expert guidance, which makes it easy for everyone to participate! We always give instructions together at the beginning on the mixing and use of colors and show the use of different work tools.

You can register to our workshops here .You can choose the workshop you like, as well as the time and date that suits you.

The workshop fee is paid in full upon registration. Registration is binding. All art supplies and aprons/protective jackets are included in the price. Wine glasses and a wine bottle opener are available on site. NOTE! Wine and refreshments are at your own expense.

The duration of the workshops varies depending on the theme. For example, the duration of the Paints and Wine workshop is two hours, the duration of the Paints and Galaxies workshop is two and a half hours. More information about the duration of the courses can be found in the workshop descriptions.

In addition to workshops, we also organize longer art courses that continue 3-6 times. More information about the workshop offer in the online store .

The instructors of the courses are visual arts pedagogues and founders of Paints and Friends Iisa, Lisa, Rosa and Ulrika. Instructors may vary per workshop.

The workshops are held at our studio in Helsinki, at Torkkelinkatu 1, street level.

Our studio has three painting rooms where workshops are organized. There is also a customer toilet and a refrigerator.

We have overalls/protective jackets for working. Please note that if paint gets on your clothes, it will not come off easily when it dries on the textile, so please dress accordingly.

You don't need your own tools for our workshops. The price of the workshop covers all necessary tools and materials. If you wish, you can also bring your own equipment.

You can also buy art supplies for your home from us, you can find them in the online store or directly at our office.

Wine glasses are also available on site!

After the workshop, you can take your own work with you, but if you want, you can also leave it at our premises to dry and pick it up within two weeks. Please note that if the paint layer on the board is thick, it may not have time to dry during the workshop.

The exception is the work of the acrylic pouring workshop, which needs a drying time of more than a day. Please be prepared to pick up your acrylic cast painting later at a time convenient for you. We keep dried works for two weeks after painting.

We announce our opening hours for the week on Instagram and Facebook on Tuesdays. You do not need to inform us separately about applying.

Due to the varying times and schedules of workshops and private events, we are there very differently, as a rule, however, Tuesday-Friday 16-19 and Saturdays 12-17.

Unfortunately, our facilities are not completely accessible. We are at street level and there is a step in front of the entrance.

We also provide service in English and Swedish! We guide the open workshops mainly in Finnish, but if there are English- or Swedish-speaking participants, we can instruct them in English or Swedish if necessary. We can also organize private events entirely in English or Swedish. Please always inform in advance which language you want the guidance in!

Longer painting courses usually start in the fall (September-October) and spring (February-March). Sometimes we also publish more compact and shorter collections throughout the year :)
