We are Paints and Friends
The founders and directors of Paints and Friends are four trained visual arts pedagogues and friends, Iisa, Lisa, Rosa and Ulrika.
All the contents and themes of the workshops stem from our own artistic interests and professional skills. Our workshops emphasize the joy and experiential nature of painting, without forgetting expert guidance, which makes it easy for anyone interested in painting to participate. We strive to ensure that in our workshops everyone can always realize their own artistic vision and unleash their creativity, with the help of the instructors' advice.
In the workshops, we give instructions in the different stages of painting and teach different methods of execution, which allow the participants to realize works of their own and boldly experiment with different techniques. We lead different workshops from Tuesday to Saturday at our studio!
The idea of low-threshold art workshops aimed at adults was born during my studies as a steiner-pedagogical visual arts subject teacher, when the desire to share the joy of painting was great. Along with the studies, the first workshops were born, such as "Paints and Plants" and summer camps for children. Immediately after graduating in 2018, we founded Paints and Friends, and the idea that arose around one workshop quickly grew into a collective that organizes various painting workshops. In addition to one-off workshops, we organize longer painting courses and private events.
Our most popular workshop is Paints and Wine, which we have organized and conceived since 2018, where participants can paint their own unique abstract painting and bring their favorite drink to enjoy. The idea for the Paints and Wine workshop was born from wine and painting evenings popular abroad, to which we wanted to bring a new, more versatile alternative. We wanted to offer the participants the opportunity to create free, abstract paintings, where everyone could bring out their own creativity in their own style , but with the help of our expert guidance.
In addition, our selection includes versatile e.g. watercolor, gouache, and acrylic casting workshops, and in addition to these, we strive to develop and expand our workshop offering to become more and more versatile all the time. In addition to workshops, our selection also includes gift cards and art supplies.
We have been involved in implementing the regional program for the Sideways and Lähiö festivals, as well as organized an art program for various associations, e.g. For Luckan rf and Kohtaus ry. We have also held the "Oo mun kaa!" art club for Visually Impaired Children's Association (year 2019-2020) and we have organized children's camps in Hollola's church village in year 2015-2019.
We organize our workshops in our own spacious premises, at Torkkelinkatu 1, street level.
We also serve in English and Swedish.
